Everything journalists and editors need to cover PortaDash — app summary, key facts, media coverage, story angles, and contact information.
01 — Overview
PortaDash is a free, ad-free, community-powered app that helps people find the nearest public restroom or porta potty instantly — wherever they are in the world. Built for runners, parents, travelers, commuters, and people of all abilities, PortaDash eliminates one of daily life's most universal stress points with a fast, location-aware interface.
The app combines OpenStreetMap data with community-contributed pins to give users the most complete picture of what's nearby. Every pin carries detailed accessibility information — wheelchair access, baby changing stations, unisex designations, and more. Available on iPhone, Android, Apple Watch, and Wear OS. Free forever, with no ads and no subscriptions.

05 — Founder

Founder, PortaDash · Nanuda Labs LLC
Lance Song is a Richmond, Virginia-based creator and Penn Engineering graduate student who built PortaDash to solve a real-world problem he encountered constantly: finding a nearby restroom quickly when mid-run, out with kids, or exploring a new city.
PortaDash was developed as a community-first utility — free, ad-free, and designed to get better with every person who uses it. The app launched in November 2025 and has grown to over 10,000 users across 175 countries, earning media coverage from Style Weekly, Axios Richmond, Richmond Magazine, and The Daily Pennsylvanian.
Lance believes the best apps solve one specific problem exceptionally well — and stay out of the way otherwise.
