Accessibility
Restroom access is not just a disability issue — it is an age issue, a parenting issue, a health issue, and a dignity issue. PortaDash is built to serve every person who has ever felt anxious, stranded, or excluded because they could not find the right restroom in time.
Who we serve
The need for a clean, accessible, and nearby restroom is universal — but the urgency is not equal. Some people face it every single day.
Older adults experience greater urgency, reduced mobility, and a higher need for grab bars and accessible stalls. Finding the right restroom fast is not a convenience — it is a necessity for staying active and independent.

Over 11 million families with children under 5Crohn's disease, IBD, IBS, diabetes, pregnancy, and dozens of other conditions create urgent and unpredictable restroom needs. These are invisible disabilities that affect millions of people who rarely look disabled.
Over 3 million Americans live with IBD aloneWheelchair users, people with mobility aids, and those who need grab bars, turning radius clearance, or specific stall dimensions cannot simply use any restroom. Every detail on every pin matters.

Not just where to go — but whether you can.
Available now
Every pin includes a field indicating whether the facility is wheelchair accessible.
Know before you go whether a changing table is available at the location.
See whether a restroom is open to the public or restricted to customers or members.
No surprises — know upfront if there is a fee to access the facility.
Find gender-neutral restroom options when you need them, mapped and filterable.
Community-written reviews surface real accessibility insights beyond what fields alone can capture.
Pins are verified by real users to keep accessibility details accurate and up to date.
Our commitment
The ADA set a floor — not a ceiling. PortaDash is built on the belief that truly accessible design requires going further: involving people with disabilities in what we build, making data open and actionable, and treating access as a right rather than a feature.
PortaDash supports the inclusive design principles of the AAPD Access Coalition, which brings together Starbucks, Walmart, CVS Health, and others to move retail spaces beyond ADA compliance toward genuine inclusion — including restroom accessibility standards.
